  • Founded in January 2012.
  • Labeled "Research Federation" no 3417 by the CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research).
  • Federation supported by 4 trusteeships: the University of Reims Champagne Ardenne (URCA), the University of Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV), the University of Li├Ęge (ULg) and the CNRS.
  • Approximately 680 researchers, lecturers, engineers, technicians, doctoral and post-doctoral students.
  • 3 border regions - Grand-Est, Hauts-de-France and Wallonia (Belgium) .
  • 33 research organisations members of the FRS.
  • International dimension: accession of the Brazilian Institute SENAI CETIQT based in Rio de Janeiro in December 2018.
  • 15 technical platforms.
  • Since 2012, around 176 projects involving at least two FRS member teams have been developed, including 75 projects supported by annual calls for projects launched by FRS and aimed at facilitating the exploration of innovative ideas between the teams.
