Full time academic position, including teaching, research activities in the field of “Development of analytical chemistry methods applied to agriculture, food and/or environment”, and public services, attached to the Department Agriculture, Bio-engineering and Chemistry (AgroBioChem), Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech/University of Liege.

Pedagogical profile
Teaching activities will deal with the field of basic chemistry, and qualitative, quantitative and instrumental analytical chemistry, either in the bachelor’s or in the master’s classes.

Research profile
The research proposed project should be related to the development (included validation) of analytical chemistry methods for applications in the fields of agriculture, food and/or environment. Research activities should provide analytical support required for research work initiated by other teams but should include a personal topic to be developed by the candidate and linked to the theme of the call and the Research and Teaching Support Units (CARE).

Eligibility criteria
The candidate must :
- hold a PhD and have significant experience in the field of the call ;
- have a recognized scientific experience with world-class publications in the field of the call ;
- be able to lead high-level scientific research and to lead a team of researchers and a laboratory ;
- demonstrate teaching skills in bachelor’s degree in large auditorium and work in collegially organized courses ;
- be creative and open to teaching innovation and interdisciplinarity ;
- be ready to work in a team and with shared human and material resources ;
- be able to teach in French and in English, or commit to doing so within two years from the date of start ;
- be available for various community service functions ;
- adhere to the quality management and continuous improvement system put in place by the Institution ;
- have a long term (minimum 6 months) postdoctoral experience abroad or experience outside one’s home institution.

Conditions
Academic positions are awarded for a first term of four years after which, an assessment will be performed before permanent position decision.
After three years, an evaluation of the field of the call and an assessment of the selected candidate are carried out at the same time by different commissions :
a) If the evaluation of the field of the call is negative and regardless of the result of the assessment of the selected candidate, he/she completes its 4 year term and can not be extended.
b) If the evaluations of the field of the call and the selected candidate are positive, he/she is permanently appointed.
