Chaire ABI of AgroParisTech ( located in the European Center of Biotechnology and Bioeconomy (CEBB, at Pomacle (20 km from Reims, France) is looking for an enthusiastic and outstanding Process Engineer to assist Chaire ABI scientist with research, testing and conducting experiments at a laboratory and pilot scale.

The successful candidate will join our very dynamic and well-equipped research group. Within our “Downstream Processing and Chemical Engineering” team, the successful candidate will work on the development of extraction, separation and purification processes (laboratory and pilot scale) for the recovery of high value compounds from complex mixtures. Specific task include the preparation and conduction of experiments, reporting results, writing of technical reports, training and supervision of students and new staff. The candidate will also work in close collaboration with our specialists in chemistry and biotechnology.

Join us on a permanent contract (French CDI with a probationary period of 4 months). The level of salary will be dependent upon qualification and experience.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor of Science (BTS, DUT, Licence Pro), or a Master of Science (M2, Diplôme d’Ingénieur) in Process Engineering. Proven skills in extraction and separation processes (membrane filtration, S-L and L-L extraction and separation) will be an asset.

Competences Sought :

  • Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of unit operations, S-L and L-L extraction, enzymatic processes, membrane separation, centrifugation, etc.
  • Well developed skills in laboratory experimentation and familiarity with pilot plant operation
  • General knowledge of chemical and analytical methods of quantification
